I know, I know, Oprah? But there is some good stuff on her book club site from her "Summer of Faulkner" a few years back. For starters, you might check out this essay called "Faulkner 101: How to Read William Faulkner."
Sadly, it seems like the really good stuff, including video lectures with a funny old Faulkner professor, have been removed from the site, so you'll have to make do with my impersonations in class. Sniff.
