Monday, September 8th (W)
• Due: Letter to Ms. Kitsis; prepare notes for On the Road seminar.
• Class: Socratic seminar for On the Road.

Note: I’ll be collecting your “intro inventory” surveys and signature pages from the syllabus; please bring those in as soon as possible!

Tuesday, September 9th (H)
• Due: Prepare notes for Mountains Beyond Mountains seminar.
• Class: Socratic seminar for Mountains Beyond Mountains.

Wednesday, September 10th (F)
• Due: Prepare for The Poisonwood Bible written assessment (nothing due in writing).
• Class: Written assessment for The Poisonwood Bible; choice book bingo; sign out vocabulary books and other housekeeping.

Thursday, September 11th (S)
• Class does not meet. Celebrate the wrapping up of summer reading assessments!

Friday, September 12th (U)
• Due: Vocabulary Unit #1 (complete all sections; please do not write in the books; please bring your vocab book to class on days that vocab homework is due).
• Class: Introduction to rhetoric; debrief on vocabulary and summer reading.

Monday, September 15th (M)
• Due: Practice “argument” essay and journal response.
• Class: Discussion of “argument” essay and graded samples; set up writing folders.
